Yonder Bridge represents the many bridges found throughout Calgary’s Confederation Park. The Oriental style of this work brings a feeling of openness and serenity through the use of white spaces and the receding of the background elements into the mist.
About Sandra SharkeySandra Sharkey is currently studying for her BFA at the University of Calgary. She was introduced to Chinese watercolour painting in the late 1990's and was drawn to the blend of its simplistic style and complex technique. She is currently working on integrating Western artistic practices into her Oriental style work.
Forest Corridor represents a pathway through the forest, one that has been used by many feet on their respective journeys through this green space. The traveler is unable to see their destination, but can find solace in the fact that many others have made this journey before them.
